Make yourself this nourishing avocado toast as a healthy and satisfying breakfast or lunch!

Avocado toast makes a delicious yet filling breakfast, lunch, or snack that will give you energy for quite some time.

Avocado toast basically is mashed avocado on a toast. This recipe has just 4 ingredients.

Avocados are rich in a variety of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and healthy, unsaturated fats and thus provide many health benefits.

You can enjoy your avocado toast as-is, or top with your desired toppings. Topping options include a sprinkle of olive oil, a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, red pepper flakes, seeds, fresh herbs, tomato slices and balsamic vinegar, or chopped fresh vegetables. A fried or scrambled egg on top is also delicious.

Be sure to use a high-quality whole-grain bread to make it even healthier.

Half an avocado is calculated per slice of bread. So feel free to make two avocado toasts for yourself or be kind enough to share the other half with your significant other. It’s also great accompanied by a salad, like this Mediterranean Chickpea Salad, White Bean Salad, or Cowboy Caviar.

How to Make Avocado Toast

This nutritious snack is easy to make and really quickly to prepare. You’ll just need to grab a small bowl and add the avocado, fresh lemon juice, and salt and mash it up using a fork. Then spread the avocado mixture on top of your toast and enjoy as-is, or top with any toppings of your choice.

Avocado Toast

Make yourself this nourishing avocado toast as a healthy and satisfying breakfast or lunch!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt (see notes below)
  • 1 slice of bread (opt for whole-grain bread), toasted
  • Optional: Toppings of choice (see post above for topping ideas)

Instructions

  • To a small bowl, add the avocado, lemon juice, and salt and mash it up using a fork.
  • Spread the avocado mixture on top of your toast. Enjoy as-is or top with your desired toppings.

Notes

You can add 1/16 teaspoon ground black pepper to the avocado mixture as well if you’d like.
